I know what it is to die, curled up on the bed with the sheets strewn about, leaking regret into a pillow case while daylight shines through the window as if everything is ordinary— as if nothing died and the world is as beautiful and logical as ever. People tell us that we should be together. People tell us we fit, we are sun and earth, and we are earth and moon... and we move in circles. They tell us that when we look in each other's eyes they can see in us the kind of love that is rare: the kind that is truthful, the one that never needs to be affirmed, or to be requited. Sometimes we dance slowly in front of them and they are moved because of how gently we hold each other, like we are newly weds on the their first day of being in love.
