Who remembers the fall of the World Trade Center? Some can bring that day back as if it happened yesterday. As for myself, I don't remember because I was only three years old. Despite this, I've read about and written poetry in remembrance of this day, twelve years ago.

Today I saw flags flying high. This is a day when we're supposed to let them down half mast. This is the day when we're supposed to remember September 11, 2001 and honor all the workers who were murdered and all the firemen, policemen, and total strangers who valiantly and selflessly gave their lives for others so others could go home to their own families. So why aren't flags at half mast?

Though I'm only in JROTC, my teachers, Lieutenant Colonel and Master Chief who have served in the military and are retired veterans, explained to us the of letting down of the flags. All I can think is...do we not remember what happened little over a decade ago? Have we forgotten already?

So today, remind those around you of what happened. Write a poem or a story and send it to me in a note--every one of them will be featured tomorrow in my personal journal and a group blog.

Please--we can't let the world forget about what happened.

Three years old, man you make me feel old. I had just reported to Fort Bragg on Sept 10th, the next day that happened and I was in Afghanistan by November.
