1. Hi Sammur-amat! You've been selected for our staff interview for Love-Literature!

Hooray! :squee:

2. What made you want to become an admin for Love-Literature? And what does your role entail?

I joined the admin with a little hint from my dear friend and creative genius of the group AimeeRaindrop.
As of the moment, I'm an official lurker for the group.

3. What do you like most about being an admin for Love-Literature?

Getting exposed to a multitude of pieces is the best part of being an admin for Love-Literature. I get to discover firsthand poetry and prose pieces written in almost every genre from every skill level.

4. Are there any deviants who inspire you here on dA? If so, who are they are and what is your favorite piece of theirs? (Up to 4 deviants, 1 piece per deviant, please)

Gosh, I have so many favorite writer-poet friends on this site that have both served great sources of inspiration and strength. It would be impossible from me to select a top 4 so instead, how about I introduce my fairly newer favorite deviants and a sample of each of their work?
littlemoonboots and a sample of her work over here:
why stars don't sleep& stars they never sleep
cradled in the gentle limbs of the moon
the sky in ocean's blood
how they love their dawn
never wake to twilight nights
breathe life into mountains
caress sky's limit
& painting life in yellow dots
falling out soundlessly.

imaginative-lioness and a sample of her work over here:
Finger-Lengththe space between us
becomes further and further,
as you drive your motorcycle
along the coastline -
your body shielded by your
leather jacket;
your unshaven chin caressed by
the wavering hands of the spring.
you pass an empty church,
filling with the stinging, soulless
curse of saltwater
(like my heart filling with despair.)
the deathless gods
attempt to undress my mind of
images of your handsome face,
       (it does not work…)
and the mortal men ignore
my pleas and search for you.
once finger-length apart,
lying on the sand,
the sea nibbling at our toes –
now,
the distance increases,
and lying on the cold ground,
       alone
in the meadows of
roses and crocuses and violets
drowns me in more loneliness.
if i pinpoint the place on a map,
of where you are now,
we would still be finger-length apart –
but i know that you are further,
and it’s going to take more

5. We know you're a writer, but are you a reader? And what sort of stuff do you really like to read; what are you reading right now?

Oh yes, in fact I consider myself more of a reader than a writer-poet, definitely. I enjoy an eclectic taste in both my choice of books and music. right now, I've got my hands on a Turkish treasure entitled, "the missing rose" by Serdar Ozkan.

6. When did you start writing? Was it a conscious decision or just something you enjoyed doing?

I remember middle school essays being what sparked passion in me for writing. High school was when I started testing myself with poetry and simple prose. Upon graduating from university though, I came to realize that the written art is something I will always pursue.

7. Where do you want to go with your writing? Are you going to do any studies to help your literature?

To be honest, I really don't know. If there's one thing I've come to understand about my fervor for writing is that more than anything, it is a salve for my sore soul. Of course I would love to be able to one day be able to further my education with regard to literature but for now, my priority is to remain able to set food on the table for my family and the only way to do that is to keep up with my 9-5 job plus at least 2 hours overtime daily, lol.

8. Tell us a random fact about yourself!

I have a cat I co-own along with my brother and sister named Emperor Ming.

9. Now tell us something no one else/not many people know (but that you don't mind our members knowing, of course!)

I'm still contemplating whether I believe in the idea of true love- subjectively speaking, as I definitely do believe in the neuro-chemical factors brought about.

10. Finally, and thank you for taking part in this interview, what are your parting words to the members of Love-Literature and the population of deviantArt in general?

The best piece of advice I've ever received and want to pass onto you lovely people is to constantly practice and always try out new things, push the envelope, and get out of your comfort zone. Nothing can give your imagination the extra oomph that passion and dedication can.
