Hi Fires-of-Winter! You’ve been selected for our monthly “Interview with a Member” feature!

Thank you so much! I feel incredibly honoured to have been selected! :D

What sort of pieces of your work can someone expect to find in your Gallery?

At the moment I only have short poems, but I’m working on a few projects that are bound to fill my gallery with life. In general, my writing style is emotional and a tad bit “overdramatic” (If any of my boring English teachers are to be believed :D). I’ve been trying to spice things up a bit, though. So if you’re not into emotional or dramatic you’ll be able to find a wider range of genres in my future work.

How long have you been writing? Have you always known you’d like to be a writer?

Technically, I’ve only been writing for a couple of months (2-3, give or take). I have always wanted to be a writer, but I never actually had the courage to start- my fear of failure made it impossible for me to hold a writing utensil without it shaking. But now, after a very harsh self-talking-to, I managed to start doing what I always dreamed of doing. Now I write because I don’t really have a choice. It’s what I am.

Where do you find your inspiration to write? Are there any deviants in particular who you find inspiring?

My inspiration to write comes from random quotes, music, and everyday life situations. Of course, having really unchallenging classes also helps. All I ever do in school is daydream
As for deviants that inspire me, I have two. :iconintricately-ordinary: & :iconuntamedunwanted:. Both of these girls are wonderful writers; so if you haven’t read any of their works, I highly recommend that you do.

What do you find difficult about being a writer? What do you find rewarding about being a writer?

I think that the most difficult thing about being a writer is knowing how to deal with writer’s block. I don’t know why, but every time that little fiend tags along I get extremely frustrated and start doubting my own writing skills. But that’s not the only difficult thing about being a writer. Getting noticed is another challenge that we must all face. As for the most rewarding thing, I would have to say that it’s the way that it allows us to escape reality, all in exchange of a smile or a tear.

What are some of your favorite pieces done by other artists here on deviantArt?

Oh, wow…I have way too many to mention :D But if you’re truly interested and want to satisfy your curiosity, you are more than welcomed to dig through my favorites. I promise that you will not be disappointed in what you find.

I did and here are a few ...

sweethearts always seem to leave you breathlessAnd I'll create a new world for myself
where the grains of sand fall upward
so that I will never have to leave
the world will cease to darken
past our lamp-lighted room
and we'll draw glow-in-the-dark stars on the walls
and the storms will only be found outside
while we snuggle here safe and warm underneath the piles of blankets
taking us into a secret world lost within the other's eyes
So when I see you again and forget all my words
forgive me
it is just because when i am with you
no words seem beautiful enough
DeliriumGive me back my ancient crown
I must have left it somewhere far
My glorious domain awaits me
Yet I'm not quit sure
Which way used to reach it
And I also have certain doubts
Whether it was ever glorious
Just give me back my crown
I am the king of illusions
And I have my doubts
But I'm almost pretty sure
That I've left my crown somewhere far
And I think I only need that
To create this delirium once more.
2007
Heading HomeBitter-boned, I break and crumble to dust
My pockets full of keys to places that no longer exist
An oystershell ashtray full of butts and ashes beside me
Testify to dreams of green hedges and white picket fences
A tapping on the door, a rapping on the wall
Ghosts always like this hour just before dawn
A bird screeches and I wake again to the stinging day
And shufflestep towards home from a thousand worlds away

What do you like to read? Do you enjoy reading the same type of work as you write or different types of literature?

I crave easily available literature. I read absolutely EVERYTHING! Be it a classic or fan fiction (ha-ha-ha don’t even ask), I will read it **Funny story: my mom actually hid my new books! XD according to her, I should be normal for a day and watch TV like a normal 18 year old. Yeah right! (:

So if you have any good stories that you would like me to read go ahead and ask, because I will read it. :D

As for my writing, I haven’t really found my genre yet, so I wouldn’t know. : /

How long have you been a member of deviantArt and what brought you here to join the site?
I’ve been a member for a month, almost two. (: I decided to join because I figured that it would be the only way to get me motivated to keep writing.

What made you wish to join #Love-Literature? What aspects of the group do you enjoy the most?

I joined the group to showcase my work. Feedback is incredibly important to me- it’s the only way that I’ll be able to improve. So if you have any constructive criticism, I’m all ears! The aspects of the group that I enjoy the most are the facts that it promotes incredible pieces, and has very supportive and kind members.

Do you have any parting words for fellow writers out there?

Tell stories, make up bizarre tales that will make you smile, give characters the breath they need to live, devise the craziest of plots, imagine the impossible, and above all, write because you love to.

I hope you’ve enjoyed my work. If you didn’t, please give me another chance. I am always working on something new, and hopefully better.

I have enjoyed and been moved by your works yes, and I look forward to reading more of you in the future.  Thanks again for taking part in our Interview Feature!

Likewise; it was a great pleasure

May your endings prove ambiguous,
