The Literature Community ExperimentThis is a typical example of a ^Beccalicious shower pondering! The idea of this is to try and bring together as many people as possible all in one journal, but not for the sake of making a big number, but to encourage interaction and share useful tidbits. We often say the "literature community" has drifted apart over the past few years and this is just one attempt to try get people to come back together. It's a little hippy, perhaps a far-fetched idea, which is why I am calling it an "experiment". This could be successful and could be a complete fail- only you guys and your efforts can decide its fate!

So I am offering all of you the chance to do a critique exchange- you comment on the journal asking for a critique- but only if you are also willing to give out one yourself.
You can do this as much as you are willing to read ans critique what they give you.

'Get Familiar' Comment Project [#4]The aim of this project is to comment on deviations from categories you are unfamiliar with. It's ongoing, so there is no time frame for completion. As [#1], [#2], [#3] were pretty successful, we have decided to update the list by taking the past three months' requests and putting it in this list, as well as those who commented. This ensures we are as up to date as we can possibly be. If you are removed from the list, comment below to let us know!

Year 8As per tradition, I missed my staff anniversary last month again. I've been working for deviantART for 7 years now! That's a really long time, but looking back, it doesn't feel that long in memory. But I have a neat highlight reel in my mind of everything I deem significant - times that felt good and times that didn't feel good. In this regard, I don't think of all the happenings in all these years as good and bad or right or wrong, at least not anymore. When you are part of a place like deviantART, you ideally throw such small thinking out the window in order to be able to appreciate this place as fully as possible. When you work for deviantART, you really just have to do that in order to be and do your best for this space and its inhabitants and I like to think that I have managed that over the years. It feels good to look at a situation and be able to look at it from different angles. That's a very important thing. I learn of and think about new perspectives every week and whi

9 YearsToday marks my 9 year anniversary since joining deviantART!

I would have totally forgot if I hadn't noticed the "Deviant for 9 Years" change on my Profile Page. I really should set an alert for every February 8th.

I feel like a real oldster now. Soon, I'll be eating bran and yelling at kids to get off my lawn.

But, in all sincerity, I love being here just as much as I did when I first started. Thanks for keeping me around all these years and for all the love and support. It's honestly the community that keeps me so extremely excited and thrilled to work at deviantART everyday. Without you guys, there's no reason to be here.

From me, to you.This week I've noticed a couple of people posting comments like "I will never be able to write like that" or "I wish I could write as well as you" and I wanted to quickly respond to them whilst its on my mind.
Firstly, I am no expert writer. I suffer with issues of punctuation, grammar, spelling, editing, stubbornness and pride.

But secondly, please remember that I am 25 years old and I have poems that I wrote when I was ten. That means I've been writing fifteen years. I have an archive of about 700 pieces. It's a lot. And the more words you write, the more words you will have written that have the potential to be amazing. Simple maths!
BUT I know this might sound like just words, so... from me to you, here is a poem I wrote in 1997, at the age of ten. You may laugh, point, pretend that it's amazing, whatever you like, but just remember that everyone starts somewhere, and everyone progresses beyond that if they try.

Internship
Tomorrow will NOT be the last day of my internship at deviantART. I have been offered an extension of two months so I'll keep working for $Heidi, $Ayame-Kenoshi and other lovely people to serve this community

My end date has been moved to the end of March, when we'll be evaluating again. I am thrilled to stay around on the team and to keep working in this fashion for the community that's dear to my heart

What type of literature can a deviant expect to find in your Gallery?
Mostly emotional and personal literature, but I do love to write fiction as well.
How long have you been writing? Have you always known you’d like to be a writer?
I actually started taking writing seriously back in 4th grade, 5 years ago. Since then, I knew I wanted to write. (:
Where do you find your inspiration to write? Are there any deviants in particular who you find inspiring?
I find inspiration from my day to day life with my friends, or stories my family tells me about my ancestors.
What do you find difficult about being a writer? What do you find rewarding about being a writer?
Difficult: Constantly revising and worrying that what I write isn't good enough
Rewarding: When I get feedback on my works! I love critiques
